I first experienced psoriasis when I was 20, not long after my mum passed away. The stress and grief I was dealing with at the time was a trigger. My whole body would be covered in a red, sore, raised rash and as a model, I struggled to find work. As a result, I became quite down and some nights I’d sit at home with cling film wrapped round my legs to soothe the skin and prevent itching.
If I notice a flare up I listen to my body and take a step back to relax and de-stress. I’ve learnt to make peace with my skin and to love myself again.
