People have asked ‘what’s that on your hand?’

I was about 4 years old when I first started to experience eczema and have been living with it ever since. The hardest part is having the noticeable symptoms on my hands and my neck, particularly as I’m a musician and these are always on show. People have asked ‘what’s that on your hand?’ or ‘is it contagious?’ which always plays on my mind and has had a massive impact on my confidence and at times, I have not wanted to leave the house.

Eczema is more common than you think.

As I’ve got older I’ve learnt that stress and diet are the biggest triggers for me and if I’m looking after myself with healthy foods, regular exercise and plenty of moisturiser then my body will thank me for it. Eczema is more common than you think and most people will experience at some point in their life – it’s time we make it ‘normal’.
