I always used to walk around with my hands in my jumpers.

I’ve had eczema from a young age, but it wasn’t until secondary school I realised I had a condition that set me apart from everyone else. I always used to walk around with my hands in my jumpers and wear long sleeves regardless of the weather. For twenty-nine years I used steroid creams to manage my eczema, even though steroid creams shouldn’t be used for more than two weeks at a time.

Now, it’s about listening to my body and doing what it needs that day.

One day I decided to stop using the creams, which started my journey with topic steroid withdrawal. Now, it’s about listening to my body and doing what it needs that day, and tomorrow I deal with it in a different way. I’ve learnt to make my own rules and do whatever makes me feel comfortable.
